The Human Communications Technology (HCT) and the Interdisciplinary Speech Research Laboratory (ISRL) at the University of British Columbia seek applications for a post-doctoral position in vocal tract modeling and speech synthesis. We are seeking an individual with strong research and programming skills and goals, who will be a leading, core member of the UBC Vocal Tract Modeling/Articulatory Synthesis Project.
Term: One year starting immediately, with renewal subject to funding
Qualifications: Required (one or more) - 3D graphics and geometric modeling - aeroacoustic modeling and fluid dynamics - non-linear dynamics - programming (C/C++/Matlab)
Other useful background: - medical imaging data/hardware - computer animation - image processing (vision) - FEM/BEM/spring mass - speech (articulation and acoustics)
