With the Vocal Tract Modeling Group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Linguistics, University of British Columbia The Human Communications Technology (HCT) and the Interdisciplinary Speech Research Laboratory (ISRL) at the University of British Columbia seek applications for a post-doctoral position in vocal tract modeling and speech synthesis. We are seeking an individual with strong research and programming skills and goals, who will be a leading, core member of the UBC Vocal Tract Modeling/Articulatory Synthesis Project. Term: One year starting immediately, with renewal subject to funding Qualifications: Required (one or more) - 3D graphics and geometric modeling - aeroacoustic modeling and fluid dynamics - non-linear dynamics - programming (C/C++/Matlab) Other useful background: - medical imaging data/hardware - computer animation - image processing (vision) - FEM/BEM/spring mass - speech (articulation and acoustics)
