CALL FOR PAPERS Workshop on Individual and Organizational Learning for Software Improvement (INOR ´01; http://www.ls.fi.upm.es/SEKE01/Workshops/) in conjunction with the 13th International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering (SEKE '01; http://www.ls.fi.upm.es/seke01/) June 2001, Buenos Aires, Argentina Due to ever shorter software product life cycles, the competitiveness of software development organizations depends increasingly on the ability to improve their software development processes faster than their competitors. In turn, this requires an accelerated build-up of software know-how both on an individual as well as on an organizational level. On the individual level, company-specific training programs and techniques for on-the-job-training are important to enhance the skills of individuals. On the organizational level, the effective and efficient capturing and sharing of experience across the organization (either by means of a repository or by means of direct communication) are vital to the success of knowledge management programs in a software development company. Yet, it is not well understood how individual and organizational learning can be combined to attain positive synergy. For example, on-the-job-training programs can be based on experience captured from past projects. Vice versa, solutions to "real-world" training exercises can yield improvement suggestions for software development processes of a software development organization. In this workshop, approaches for individual and organizational learning shall be investigated with the aim to discuss potential benefits of combining them. Paper Submission: Papers will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of the workshop. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): - Skill profiling and skill management - Job-oriented education and training - Education and training on demand - Reuse-based education and training - Process-centered education and training - Technology-enabled individual and organizational learning - Simulation-based learning - Evaluation and certification of education and training programs - Build-up of software knowledge repositories - Maintenance of knowledge repositories Submission Format: Papers can be up to 10 pages long.
