Professor (Ref: CRB/126), Reader (Ref: CRB/118), Lecturers (Ref: CRB/1725, CRB/1726) in Computer Science, Royal Holloway, University of London The Department of Computer Science, Royal Holloway University of London seeks to recruit these four established posts in Computer Science commencing September 2000. Two of these are new posts, released by the College in recognition of the strengths of the Department of Computer Science (established 1968) and Computer Learning Research Centre (established 1998). We seek to strengthen and broaden our current research programme in Computational Learning, Kolmogorov Complexity, Bioinformatics, Protocols and Concurrency, Languages and Architectures, and Constraint Satisfaction, or to develop complementary areas such as Distributed Systems, Internet Applications, Computational Finance, Neuroinformatics or Quantum Computing. However candidates from any area of Computer Science or a related discipline such as Mathematics or Physics will be considered. Candidates for these positions will be required to demonstrate research accomplishments at a high level as well as good teaching abilities at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Chair will be filled by an outstanding scholar, with an international reputation, to provide academic leadership in existing or new research areas.
