| Responsibilities: ? Analyze historical databases to build predictive models and data-driven knowledge tools. ? Perform methodological research and/or evaluate new methodology. ? Collaborate with chemists and engineers on problems in formulation development, performance testing, and process/product development. ? Design and analyze experiments.
The ideal candidate will possess: ? Recent Master's or Ph.D. degree in statistics, machine learning, or closely related field. ? Strong modeling background with experience in Bayesian inference, regression and classification analysis, and multivariate statistics. Training in experimental design. ? Knowledge and/or interest in machine learning and modern regression methods (e.g., CART, MARS, radial basis functions, Bayesian networks, nonlinear optimization algorithms, multimedia analysis). ? Strong computing background with high-level programming experience (e.g., C, Fortran), and proficiency in SAS or S-Plus. ? Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
