- Knowledge Acquisition
- Case-Based Reasosning
Funded by the European Community (project 29288) Goals of MLNET:- Coordination between European Researchers and Industry in Machine Learning, Knowledge Acquisition, Case-Based Reasoning and Data Mining
- Increasing awareness of applications, technologies and scientific results between different communities.
Activities of MLNET:- Preparing a Scientific and Business outlook for 2000 - 2010: identifying the major trends in scientific research, emerging new technologies and potential and limitations of applications of these technologies. Currently the main application area is in data mining but new areas are opening up, like text mining, adaptive systems, learning agents.

When join MLNET?- If you want to contribute to the actions of MLNET
- If you want to benefit from MLNET support and information
- If you want to initiate new actions towards the general goals of MLNET
Currently MLNET has about 55 nodes most of which are academic nodes. MLNET wants to strengthen relations with European industry, in particular with users of machine learning and case-based reasoning for data mining to improve exchange of ideas between researchers and users. Who can join MLNET?In general companies and institutes with sustained activities of good quality in Machine Learning, Knowledge Acquisition or Case-Based Reasoning can become "nodes" of the network. Only nodes in the European Community and certain associated countries can receive financial support. How to apply for membership of MLNET?Contact the MLNET coordinator: Maarten van Someren, Universiteit van Amsterdam, Roetersstraat 15, 1018 WB Amsterdam, [email protected] or via www.mlnet.org. | |
