CALL FOR PARTICIPATION ++++++++++++++++++++++ YOR12 Data Mining Stream The University of Nottingham 27-29 March 2001 http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/r.burbidge/yor12/ The twelfth Young OR conference is a biennial event organized by the Operational Research society (ORSOC) aimed at practitioners of OR, both commercial and academic. It is open to those who have been practising OR for less than 10 years. The conference is organized into a number of streams, at which participants are encouraged to give talks lasting approximately 20 minutes. In addition there are plenary talks, tutorials, a recruitment fair and various social events, including the conference banquet. This year the conference is being held at Nottingham University (http://www.nottingham.ac.uk). The Data Mining Stream follows on from last year's successful stream. Topics covered include, but are not restricted to Classification Regression Data Cleaning Warehousing Outlier Detection Clustering Neural Networks Genetic Algorithms Support Vector Machines Statistical and Bayesian Methods Model Selection Feature Selection Clustering etc. Submissions of either a theoretical or applied nature are welcomed, including real-world applications of new techniques such as SVMs, and applications of existing techniques to novel problems.
