Information Management for Productivity Enhancement CALL FOR PAPER FOR INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF AGILE MANUFACTORING - IJAM (http://www.ucs.usl.edu/~snd7483/IJAM.html) Paper Submission due January 10th, 2000 Sponsored by the International Society for Agile Manufacturing - ISAM (http://www.ucs.usl.edu/~snd7483/ISAM.html) Dr. Suren N. Dwivedi Chief Editor suren@usl.edu Dr. Sofiane Labidi Associate Editor labidi@elo.com.br ---------------------------------------------------------------- About IJAM: The International Journal of Agile Manufacturing -IJAM welcomes original papers that pertain to state-of-the-art research and development, product development, novel applications, and tools in the areas related to agile manufacturing. The Journal addresses the utilization of Agility, and includes areas of information modeling, distribution, planning and scheduling, and collaborative decision-making, as well as the organization and management. Agile technologies that result in faster productivity and better customer value are emphasized. Major research areas include process characterization and matrices, enterprise modeling, multi-enterprise integration, information sharing and collaboration, networked collocation tools for multi-media conferences, distributed environments, corporate technical memories, Agility languages and tools, intelligent retrieval, virtual teams, architectures, and emerging standards and practices. IJAM is published four times a year with papers selected from all parts of the world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ About the Session: The Information Management for Productivity Enhancement Session will study the importance of the definition of new interdisciplinary technologies for Knowledge Management and its impact for productivity enhancement. As we move forward in toward the age of infinite information and start using widely new technologies in diverse areas for a wide range of simple to complex applications. Thus, we expect that most of the forthcoming papers will cover theoretical and practical approaches to knowledge management concerning the following (and not limited) topics: Corporate Memory, Workflow Management, Distribution, Planning and Scheduling, Web-Based Technologies, Knowledge Discovery and Data-Mining, Concurrent Engineering, etc. This session of the Journal would then review the progress and prospects in this interesting area focusing on (1) Innovative applications, (2) Challenges of successful deployment of new Technologies, Theory and Approaches for Information Management. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submission Details: Submit your articles electronically (in PDF, Postscript, or MS WORD format) through the email: labidi@elo.com.br until January, 10. Authors are encouraged to submit prior to this an abstract of their contribution. Submissions must not exceed 15 pages, including title page, figures, and references. The title page must contain: title and authors; physical and e-mail addresses; an abstract of no more than 200 words; a list of five keywords. Paper should be formatted according to ISAM format, see: Manuscript Preparation.
