CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NIPS'99 Workshop on LEARNING WITH SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINES: THEORY AND APLICATIONS Deadline for receipt of abstracts is **** 20th October 1999 ****. Date and Location: December 3-4 in Breckenridge, Colorado following the main NIPS conference. Support Vector Machines have become established as a powerful technique for solving a variety of classification, regression and density estimation tasks. This workshop will cover Support Vector Machines and related techniques based on the concepts of large margins or the use of kernel methods. Topics covered will include: - new theoretical contributions - algorithms and implementation techniques - applications Contributors to the workshop will be invited to submit their papers to a special issue of the journal Machine Learning edited by the workshop organisers. Further details about the workshop and special issue may be found at: http://lara.enm.bris.ac.uk/cig/nips99.htm Potential contributors are expected to provide a title for their talk, an abstract and contact details (name, mail address, email address, telephone number) by email to C.Campbell@bris.ac.uk Dr. Colin Campbell, Department of Engineering Mathematics, Queen's Building, Bristol University, Bristol BS8 1TR United Kingdom C.Campbell@bris.ac.uk http://lara.enm.bris.ac.uk/cig/ Tel: +44 (0) 117 928 9858.
