Aplogies for multiple reception. You can also find the call on : http://www.inria.fr/acacia/Coop/Coop2000 Call for paper of : COOP'2000 Workshop on Cooperative Models based on Argumentation in Problem Solving Argumentation still nowaday a research subject to deepen. Main challenge in this research, is to study : - how argumetation is used by managers, engineers, lawyers, scientists, ... in their activities and especially in collaborative decision making ; - how techniques and tools can contribute on understanding and facilitating these processes ; - how argumentation models are built (with which components) and implemented (which representation formalism), how they are used (on which domain, for which type of problem solving) and evaluated (with which techniques, what are the results, missings, etc.) ; - how linguistic analysis can contribute to model argumentation. Several disciplines are involved in these studies, as sociology, communication studies, cognitive sciences, new technology of information and communication, etc. Our main objective is to offer through this workshop a discussion ground between these studies and fields, on how to build cooperative models based on argumentation and how to make them advantageous, under which interface types, with which technics ? Topics of interest include: ------------------------------------- Papers are welcome in any area concerning argumentation and collaborative decision making. - Theoretical Argumentation studies : classification of arguments, use in communication, etc. - Implicit communication and tacit agreement. - Contribution of linguisitic in argumantation modelling. - Computer Supported Collaborative Argumentation : use of distributed environnement, multimedia interfaces, ... to support argumentation and collaborative decision making. - Applications : in learning, design-rationale support and management, etc. - Argumentation and knowledge management : Project memory, etc. Important dates Submission deadline: February 25, 2000 Notification of acceptance: March 17, 2000 Camera (Web)-ready: March 31, 2000 Workshop: May 23-26 2000 Submission Procedure ----------------------------------- Contributions are invited in the form of a full paper (max. 5 pages).
