Description
4-year postdoctoral research fellow position will open in January 2006 in the Health Psychophysiology Lab, Institute for Psychology. In close collaboration with the Center for Chronobiology and the Department of Computer Sciences we are studying in a multicenter EU Integrated Project the entrainment of the circadian clock during jet lag and shift work ssmlflf. The main responsibility of the research fellow will be to develop computerized methods and algorithms for identification of circadian variation in laboratory and ambulatory physiological data (e.g., skin conductance, skin temperature, heart rate) collected using novel noninvasive recording devices and sensors. The research involves pattern recognition, statistical modeling and software development. Applicants with a background in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical/biomedical engineering who possess good knowledge and practical experience in pattern recognition and a strong motivation to pursue academic research in this emerging field are encouraged to apply. Training or work experience in digital signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, artificial intelligence, neural networks, and statistics, and credentials in software design and implementation are preferred. Experience with MATLAB programming and peripheral psychophysiology signals is a plus. Good verbal and writing skills in English are desirable.
