4 Modeling and Reporting Positions at
Fleet Mortgage Group

Fleet has been in the mortgage banking industry for over 60 years and is the
only lender to be ranked among the top 10 lenders for more than a decade.
Fleet originates mortgage loans through more than 40 correspondent, retail
and wholesale offices nationwide and through its National Telesales Center.
In 1998, Fleet Mortgage ranked as the sixth largest originator and seventh
largest servicer of mortgage loans in the nation with approximately 1.4
million customers and a servicing portfolio of $127 billion. Fleet Mortgage
offers a competitive array of loan products including government,
conventional, home equity, jumbo and special state-housing programs. Fleet
also offers relocation assistance to corporations through Fleet Mortgage
Services in Darien, CT.
Fleet Mortgage Group is dedicated to developing actional intelligence to
drive the business and we are currently recruiting for the following
positions:

Retention Modeler
This person will be responsible for developing and testing explanatory and
predictive models of consumer behavior. These models will be used to
successfully identify which customers to target for our marketing campaigns.

Your duties will include:
- Defining research strategy.
- Developing predictive and explanatory models of consumer behavior.
- Testing the models you develop.
- Writing up, presenting, and explaining the results to senior management.
- Documenting the experiments used to develop the models.
- Presentation of modeling concepts and goals to marketing and business
teams.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills.
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Machine Learning, Econometrics.
- 5 to 8 years modeling experience. Marketing modeling a plus.
- Expert knowledge of a modeling or Datamining tool. SAS or S-Plus preferred.
- Comfortable in a UNIX environment.
- Strong knowledge of DBMS querying and extract tools. Oracle preferred.
- Excellent teaching, writing, and presentation skills.
- Financial Services background preferred. Mortgage background a plus.

Senior Mortgage Prepayment Modeler
This person will be responsible for developing and testing explanatory and
predictive models of consumer behavior. These models will be used to
successfully predict the probability of a consumer refinancing their
mortgage. These predictions and models will be used by the portfolio
management, hedging, and valuation functions of the business in their daily
operations.

Your duties will include:
- Defining research strategy.
- Developing predictive and explanatory models of consumer behavior.
- Testing the models you develop.
- Writing up, presenting, and explaining the results to senior management.
- Documenting the experiments used to develop the models.
- Presentation of modeling concepts and goals to marketing and business
teams.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills.

Mortgage Prepayment Analyst
This person will be responsible for analyzing and reporting the prepayment
characteristics of Fleet Mortgage Group's mortgage servicing portfolio.
This information will presented through feature articles in our corporate
prepayment newsletter. This information will be provided to Hedging,
Servicing Valuation, Marketing and any other parties deemed necessary.

Your duties will include:
- Identifying areas of analysis.
- Writing monthly or more frequent articles to explain findings.
- Create 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month prepayment forecasts.
- Compare prepayment forecasts to actual performance.
- Compare Fleet Mortgage Group's prepayment speeds to industry benchmark
speeds.
- Identify segments of the portfolio that are valued differently than the
market.
- Present results of analysis to senior management and the business units.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills.
- Masters / Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, Econometrics or Statistics.
- 3 to 5 years analysis experience. Mortgage prepayment analysis a plus.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis software. SAS or S-Plus a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience writing reports distributed in the industry a plus..
- Comfortable in a UNIX environment.
- Strong knowledge of DBMS querying and extract tools. Oracle preferred.
- Financial Services background preferred. Mortgage background a plus.

Data & Reporting Manager
This person will be responsible for developing automated and ad-hoc reports
of mortgage prepayment activity. He or She will also be the data steward
for our business unit.

Your duties will include:
- Work with all departments to determine their prepayment reporting needs.
- Create and develop production and ad-hoc prepayment reports.
- Manage the department's presence on the intranet.
- Manipulate data as necessary to perform responsibilities.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills.
- Bachelors Computer Science and Masters Business. Or related experience.
- 1 to 3 years experience.
- Strong knowledge of a 4th generation language. SAS preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DBMS and SQL necessary. Oracle preferred.
- Knowledge of the Internet web page design preferred.
- Very computer literate.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Some knowledge of statistical software.
