Description

The purpose of this research is to devise a system for analysing and predicting the behaviour of the user of a particular computer system or program. Possible applications are: predicting users' preferences in web browsing or wearable computing, automated help systems, and automation of repetitive tasks. The system will apply discovery and prediction techniques from machine learning. While current techniques are mostly limited to static datasets, the research challenge of this project is to adapt them to a dynamic, on-line context. The research will concentrate on promising approaches to combining statistical and logical knowledge, such as Bayesian belief networks.
