Description

Expert Engineer Position
INRIA-Sophia-Antipolis, ACACIA project

The ACACIA team (INRIA-Sophia-Antipolis) is looking for an expert engineer in
the framework of the IST European project CoMMA («Corporate Memory Management
through Agents») to which the ACACIA team takes part.

The CoMMA project aims at developping support tools for building and searching
a corporate memory materialized in XML documents annotated by metadata
expressed in RDF format. This corporate memory can be accessed via the
corporate Intranet. Search in the memory will be guided by corporate knowledge
models : entreprise models, models of users members of the company, document
models... Such knowledge will enable to index the corporate memory elements,
in order to ease their later retrieval by the end-users.

The work planned concerns development of ontologies in RDF Schema and
development of a multi-agents system made of several agents cooperating for
information retrieval. Such agents will have inference mechanisms exploiting
ontologies as well as annotations expressed in RDF format. These annotations
will be translated into conceptual graphs thanks to the CORESE platform of the
ACACIA team, so as to exploit the reasoning capabilities on conceptual graphs.
The multi-agents system will be implemented in JAVA above the platform JADE
dedicated to mutli-agent systems and above the platform CORESE. It will be
tested by the industrial partners of the CoMMA project.

REQUIRED COMPETENCES

- Competence in one of the following fields: multi-agents systems, XML,
