Description

 

Are you a guru in data mining and analytics? Are you looking for a unique opportunity to leverage your knowledge in applied statistics? Are you fascinated with data access tools and data visualization techniques?

The Senior Manager, Information Science - Data Mining Specialist will work with Marketing, Market Analytics, and Sales Operations to develop expertise in the business functions, data functions and problem solving tools. Specific responsibilities of the Senior Manager will include:

? Expanding the use of data mining and data visualization techniques.
? Consulting with the client teams to solve complex analytical problems.
? Implementing marketing segmentation and sales force targeting results in a cross-functional team.
? Cultivating and managing vendor relationships.
? Creating, evaluating and acquiring new data sources for the data warehouse
? Training client teams on new data sources and analytical techniques.
? Validating and integrating new and existing data.
? Continuously improving the quality and timeliness of all data sources.

Candidates must have excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and most of the following specific skill sets:
? Consulting and presentation experience with upper sales or marketing management.
? Commercial data mining software (decision trees, clustering, neural nets, associations, etc.).
? Data warehouse and data mart design (e.g. ORACLE, SQL, MS Access).
? Statistical programming language (e,g,, SAS)
? Experience with thin-client (Intranet) or client-server software design.
? Data quality evaluation.
? Statistical experimental design, including return on investment analyses.

Data Mining Specialist must be a U.S. citizen or have Permanent Residence status in the United States. Also required is a technical undergraduate degree and an advanced degree (M.S., M.B.A., or Ph.D.) in business administration, computer science or statistics. We require two or more years experience applying data mining within a corporate sales or marketing environment.
