There is currently an opportunity for a number of high caliber individuals to join the Research Team, a small, dynamic team charged with researching, designing and implementing analytical solutions for customer intelligence within Norkom Technologies. The positions can either be based in our Dublin office in Ireland or our Ghent office in Belgium.

ROLE
Our Researchers will undertake research projects across a broad range of business, analytical and technology related subjects. They provide invaluable information both internally to Product Development, Marketing and Consulting, and externally to our client base. They will have frequent interactions with other departments in Norkom and with University and Industry Research groups. Depending on the stages of their career development, they will have the opportunity to play multiple roles: researching, managing and coordinating Research projects and processes, coaching junior colleagues, working in multidisciplinary teams.
We have a wide range of interesting and challenging research projects: e.g., developing leading edge web mining algorithms for eCRM and m-Commerce, evaluating algorithms and technologies from our partners, advanced customer metrics such as lifetime values, wallet shares; intelligent agents for customer interactions, data mining projects for external clients.

ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS
· University Degree, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics or Business or related fields
· Aptitude to absorb large quantities of information, extract key findings and present these findings at senior management level.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to use English as a working language.
· Methodical approach to operations research with attention to detail.
· Ability to pick up and run with focused research activities demonstrating initiative and innovative approaches to information gathering and presentation.
· For senior position, a minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
· Experience in project co-ordination and planning and the ability to handle a number of projects simultaneously.
· Flexibility to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
· Exposure to working in leading Database Technologies such as Oracle, Informix, SQL Server would be advantageous.
· Ability to digest and distil information into focused white papers and research notes that will support business development and ongoing product development activities.
· Knowledge of Java, C++ would be a distinct advantage.
