TWO LECTURESHIPS IN STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY
The Department of Statistics (one of three departments: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, constituting the School of Mathematics) is seeking two new Lecturers. These posts (one permanent and one 3-year fixed-term) are part of a major development which aims to enhance the School's excellent reputation in research and teaching. The posts are available from 1st March, 2000 or a later date by mutual agreement.
Applicants should have a strong background in statistics or probability, with a strong commitment to high-quality teaching. Full consideration will be given to candidates with strong research records in any area, although preference may be given to candidates with research interests which include stochastic analysis or computational statistics, broadly interpreted.
Salary for both positions will be on the scale for Lecturer `A/B' (17,238-30,065 UK pounds) according to qualifications and relevant experience.
