| The School of Computer Science of the Otto-von-Guericke
University of Magdeburg offers a position of a research associate
to join the newly established DFG (German National Research Council)
research group "Workbench for Information Fusion". The vacancy has
to be filled as soon as possible for a duration of initially two
years. The compensation, based upon the
relevant tariff regulations, lies between 50 and 60k DEM (BAT IIa-O).
The research group "Workbench for Information Fusion" consists
of eight projects which concentrate on the integration,
processing and fusion of information gained from
heterogeneous and distributed sources. The main focus of the
advertised position lies in active learning methods.

Required qualifications:
We seek a university graduate (MSc. or comparable) in Computer Science
or in a comparable field. The candidate should have a
profound knowledge of machine learning, knowledge discovery in
databases, or statistical learning methods
and should be willing to assume personal
responsibility for his/her academic work. Team spirit and the ability
and willingness to co-operate with the team members engaged in
the other partial projects is essential.
