| XRCE’s Imaging Research Group is an expanding team, which specializes in image processing with digital and phone cameras, image enhancement, document imaging, visual categorization and machine learning systems enabling innovative services and solutions. We have strong links to other research groups within Xerox in the US, and to several major government-funded research institutes.
We are looking for a researcher with strong experience in image processing and document imaging. Responsibilities will include inventing, implementing and evaluating novel imaging software which is of value for our work on Mobile Document Imaging.
Applicants should possess a Ph. D. or equivalent with experience in imaging (image quality and enhancement). The successful candidate will be able to conduct solid evaluation and will have strong and efficient communication (English) and teamwork skills. Preference will be given to those candidates keen to generate intellectual property and with a proven record of scientific publications. Excellent skills in the implementation of image processing algorithms and C++ programming are required. Knowledge of Symbian or other mobile operating systems is definitely a plus. A strong background on machine learning and statistics is desirable. This is an 18 month position.
