| Applications are invited for 2/3 PhD or postdoc positions in data and text mining applied to molecular biology. Successful candidates will join the Medical Informatics Service, University Hospital of Geneva. They will mainly pursue researches in the context of the EAGL project, but will work in close connection with other projects:

Candidates should have the following qualifications: -an outstanding academic record in computer science as well as strong mathematical and programming skills; -a solid background in at least two of the following fields: document engieneering, information retrieval, information extraction, natural language processing, machine learning, terminology management; -good communication skills in English and French (or at least a clear indication of willingness to learn the latter); -an experience with biomedical databases and terminologies (UMLS, Gene Ontology, Swiss-Prot, LocusLink...) would be an asset; -an experience with MaxEnt, Kernel-based or Genetic algorithms would be also an asset.
