As software engineer with the IT department, you will develop and debug software libraries, and develop or implement utilities for data preparation and result set postprocessing. You will implement and analyze algorithms, run and analyze tests, resolve errors, and suggest or implement solutions.
We are developing software that will improve the way next-generation consumer electronics devices handle large quantities of personal multimedia content with respect to searching and browsing; content filtering, recommendation, and classification; and relevance indexing.
You will be responsible for developing, modifying, evaluating and/or testing of software library modules. In addition, you will perform troubleshooting and investigation, conduct experimental tests and evaluate results. Provide technical support to product planning teams and product engineering organizations. Locate, recommend, and implement tools for data handling or analysis.
Qualifications 1. Master of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent. In lieu of this degree, must have a Bachelor of Science in related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of directly related software development experience.
2. At least 4 years experience in software design/development using object-oriented technology in Unix and/or Windows platforms.
3. Solid understanding of complex data structures, algorithms, software architectures and software engineering principles.
4. Proficient in algorithm design and programming in at least one of the following: C, C++, C#, or Java.
5. Proficient in one or more of Shell, Perl, PHP, Python, Tcl
6. Knowledge of CVS, Bugzilla and other software management tools will be a definite plus
7. Good written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and evaluation skills.
8. Exposure to algorithms based on numerical procedures, statistics or probability theories is a plus but not required.
9. Exposure to theoretical concepts of machine learning, data mining & knowledge discovery, pattern recognition, operation research is a plus but not required.
