| Toyota Technical Center, Ann Arbor, MI Basic Research Group Research Manager Toyota Technical Center (TTC) is Toyota's engineering and research organization in North America. TTC is engaged in engineering design, prototype building, vehicle evaluation, and technical research, as well as evaluation and design of parts and materials, regulatory affairs, and emissions certification. TTC has maintained its headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI for the past 25 years and is currently embarking on an aggressive expansion of its research activities. Toyota Technical Center currently seeks an exceptional individual for the full-time position of Research Manager in the area of Artificial Intelligence at its Ann Arbor headquarters. The job duties include: · Provide overall group leadership and future direction. Define, develop and implement a plan to conduct AI related research · Lead academic/research activities and explore/develop novel ideas for automotive and non-automotive applications · Collaborate with TTC's partners in the industry and academia on current and future research projects. Current collaborations include projects with leading North American universities · Negotiate effective work plans & strategies with Toyota Japan and other Toyota departments · Manage group resources to maintain maximum efficiency and effectiveness · Willingness to work overtime and travel A successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills/credentials · Ph.D or Sc.D in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study · Research experience in Artificial Intelligence and related areas (>=10 years; list of academic publications and awards required) · Strong leadership and coaching skills (>=5 years) · Experience in engineering system development (>= 3 years) · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status (due to export regulations) To apply, please contact: [email protected].
